James Moore, DPT, PT

Physical Therapist & Owner

James is very passionate about being effective as a clinician, and he enjoys himself while doing it. He has extensive manual therapy and other continuing education training. He has also held a variety of APTA positions. James enjoys participating in the opportunities in our lovely little community. He teaches OLLI classes at Humboldt State University and plays in a local rock band, among other activities. James worked at Mad River Hospital for 5 years before opening Humboldt Physical Therapy. HPT has enjoyed continued growth since opening.

Nikki Davoodiaria, DPT, PT

Physical Therapist

Nikki Davoodiaria is a licensed physical therapist with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Oakland University, Rochester, MI in 2007. She is a certified Pilates instructor from Stott PilatesĀ® and has a Bachelor of Science degree in clinical psychology. She moved from Metro Detroit to Humboldt in 2016. She has experience treating orthopedic and post-operative conditions. Her special interest is in customizing individually tailored exercise programs for her patients to meet their specific needs. Her focus in physical therapy lies in combining therapeutic exercise, patient education, and manual physical therapy to provide effective rehabilitation interventions.

Patty Baker, PTA

Physical Therapy Assistant

Patty Baker has been a licensed physical therapist assistant since 2014. She joined the Humboldt Physical Therapy team May 2018 after working across the country as a traveling PTA. Patty received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in education, and taught anatomy & physiology. Additionally, Patty has over 20 years experience as a licensed massage therapist. She specializes in myofascial release, and uses integrative strategies for pain management and for restoring joint mobility. Patty loves living and working in Humboldt County. Being surrounded by the beauty of the giant redwoods supports her lifestyle of living in peace and harmony and she shares that with all who comes into her life.

Linay Mitchell

Office Manager

Linay began working at Humboldt Physical Therapy in January 2016. She holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science from Humboldt State University. Linay likes to challenge herself and try new things. She especially enjoys going to community events with her daughter such as Arts Alive and the Farmers Market.

Katie Rossi

Assistant Office Manager

Katie has been supporting our team atmosphere since January of 2016. She was a CNA for 4 years at San Joaquin Community Hospital in Kern County before moving to Humboldt for a change of scenery. She graduated from Bakersfield College in 2015 with an associate degree in liberal studies. Katie spends her free time hiking, reading and working on film projects with her husband.

Providence

Care Coordinator/Aide

Providence has been a Care Coordinator with Humboldt Physical Therapy since fall 2019. She attended Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana with a focus in behavioral psychology. She moved to Humboldt county in late 2016 and enjoys spending her free time in the Redwoods or at the beach.

Jonathan

Care Coordinator/ Aide

Jonathan is a junior at Humboldt State University, majoring in kinesiology with a pre-physical therapy focus. After receiving his bachelor's degree, he hopes to go to physical therapy school. Jonathan's goal is to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and to open his own PT clinic. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys going on hikes with his dogs and playing music.

Gabe

Care Coordinator/Aide

Gabe attended HSU and graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science in 2019. He also has experience working as an Olympic Weightlifting coach in our community. He likes to spend his free time swimming, biking, and running in all of the natural beauty that Humboldt has to offer.

Courtney

Care Coordinator/Aide

Courtney began working with the clinic in May 2018. She graduated with her Bachelor's of Kinesiology from HSU in Fall 2018. She is currently pursuing her Master's of Kinesiology at HSU, with her thesis emphasis in dual-task testing for concussion management. When she is not at the clinic, Courtney also works with the HSU Biomechanics Lab assisting in running analyses and fall risk assessments and with the North Coast Concussion Program providing concussion testing for the community, HSU students, and high school athletes. She hopes to either pursue her PhD in Neuroscience or Sport Sciences. During her free time, she enjoys reading, laying out by the river, or bingeing her favorite shows.
