James Moore, DPT, PT, CEO

James is very passionate about being effective as a clinician, and he enjoys himself while doing it. He has extensive manual therapy and other continuing education training. He has also held a variety of APTA positions.
James enjoys participating in the opportunities in our lovely little community. He teaches OLLI classes at Humboldt State University and plays in a local rock band, among other activities.
James worked at Mad River Hospital for 5 years before opening Humboldt Physical Therapy. HPT has enjoyed continued growth since opening.

Dena Manka, PT

I have been a physical therapist since 1987 after graduating from Fresno State University. I believe in a full body integrated approach when dealing with specific physical complaints. I have been working at Humboldt Physical Therapy for five years now. One reason I appreciate working here is I am able to spend quality time with my patients. I value hands on body work, instructing patients in correct body mechanics, postural positioning and stabilization. Initially, as a young therapist, I started out with a primary focus on sports medicine. Recently, I have developed an interest in pelvic rehabilitation practices. As a woman who is a mother and has gone through many different stages in life, I feel that there is a significant need for pelvic health services and that I have a unique perspective to bring to this area of PT because of my own experiences. I have taken several courses from Herman and Wallace Rehabilitation Institute, which is at the forefront of pelvic rehabilitation education. In my free time I like to garden, hike, backpack and do handwork projects.

Linay Mitchell - Office Manager

Linay began working at Humboldt Physical Therapy in January 2016. She holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science from Humboldt State University. Linay likes to challenge herself and try new things. She especially enjoys going to community events with her daughter such as Arts Alive and the Farmers Market.

Katie Rossi - Assistant Office Manager

Katie has been supporting our team atmosphere since January of 2016. She was a CNA for 4 years at San Joaquin Community Hospital in Kern County before moving to Humboldt for a change of scenery.  She graduated from Bakersfield College in 2015 with an associate degree in liberal studies. Katie spends her free time hiking, reading and working on film projects with her husband.
